A Strategic Visit to A2 Agro Allied in Kaase

Located in Kaase, Kumasi, A2 Agro Allied has positioned itself as one of Ghana’s emerging agribusiness platforms, operating across key areas of the poultry and livestock value chain.

  • Poultry farming
  • Poultry feed production
  • Soybean meal processing
  • Veterinary medicines and supplements
  • Farm tools, feeders, and drinkers
  • Farmer support and input supply

This integrated model allows A2 Agro Allied to support farmers not only with finished products, but with the essential inputs and infrastructure needed to grow a stronger poultry sector.

The visit by the GIPC CEO therefore represented more than a courtesy call. It was a recognition of A2 Agro Allied’s role in building a more resilient local food system and creating investment opportunities within Ghana’s agricultural economy.

Supporting Ghana’s Poultry Industry Through Local Feed Production

Feed remains one of the biggest cost drivers in poultry farming. For many poultry farmers in Ghana, the cost, quality, and availability of feed can determine whether their farms grow, struggle, or shut down.

This is why A2 Agro Allied’s investment in feed production is so important.

Through its feed operations, A2 Agro Allied produces mash, pellets, and crumbles designed to support poultry at different stages of growth. These products serve farmers working with broilers, layers, and other poultry systems.

By strengthening local feed production, A2 Agro Allied is helping to reduce pressure on imported feed inputs, improve access to quality poultry nutrition, support local farmers with reliable supply, contribute to Ghana’s poultry self-sufficiency goals, and create more value within the local agricultural economy.

As Ghana continues to prioritise local poultry production, companies like A2 Agro Allied are becoming increasingly important to the future of the sector.

The Importance of Soybean Processing in Ghana’s Poultry Value Chain

Soybean is one of the most important ingredients in poultry feed because of its high protein content. A strong soybean processing system supports not only poultry farmers, but also soybean growers, feed manufacturers, and the wider agricultural economy.

One of the key areas discussed during the GIPC visit was A2 Agro Allied’s soybean storage and processing capacity.

Public information from GIPC highlighted that A2 currently has a 14,000-tonne soybean storage base and is seeking about US$5 million to support expansion into 60,000-tonne silos.

This planned expansion would significantly strengthen A2 Agro Allied’s ability to store, process, and supply soybean-based inputs to the poultry feed industry.

It would also help address one of the biggest challenges in Ghana’s poultry sector: the need for consistent, affordable, and locally available feed ingredients.

A2 Agro Allied’s Growing Impact

A2 Agro Allied is building a connected agribusiness ecosystem that supports the poultry industry from input supply to production.

A2 Farms operates at a scale of nearly 400,000 birds, while A2’s soybean meal facility is positioned to produce between 250 and 300 metric tonnes of soybean meal per day.

These figures demonstrate the company’s growing capacity and its contribution to Ghana’s poultry and feed industries.

Beyond production, A2 Agro Allied also operates a poultry showroom that provides farmers with access to veterinary medicines, supplements, feeders, drinkers, and other essential farm tools.

This makes A2 Agro Allied more than a producer. The company serves as a support system for farmers, helping them access the products and inputs they need to run more productive and sustainable farms.

A2 Agro Allied and Ghana’s Food Security Agenda

The GIPC CEO’s visit comes at a time when Ghana is placing renewed focus on local food production, agro-processing, and poultry sector development.

For years, Ghana has spent hundreds of millions of dollars annually on imported poultry products. This has created a strong national conversation around the need to increase local poultry production and reduce dependence on imports.

A2 Agro Allied’s work directly supports this agenda.

Through its investment in soybean processing, poultry feed manufacturing, poultry farming, and farmer support services, the company is contributing to a stronger local food system.

A2 Agro Allied is helping Ghana move closer to a future where more poultry products are produced locally, more farmers are supported, and more value remains within the Ghanaian economy.

GIPC’s Role in Promoting Investment

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre plays an important role in promoting and facilitating investment in Ghana.

Mr. Simon Madjie’s visit to A2 Agro Allied highlighted GIPC’s commitment to identifying and supporting businesses that are creating real value in priority sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, agro-processing, and food production.

For A2 Agro Allied, the visit was an opportunity to showcase its operations, discuss expansion needs, and highlight the investment potential within Ghana’s poultry and soybean value chains.

The discussions around policy advocacy, investment facilitation, and infrastructure expansion are especially important as A2 continues to scale its operations and deepen its contribution to the agribusiness sector.
